There’s no question that Arundel is one of the most historic and atmospheric towns in Sussex, providing an awesome day out all year round.
On 10th December, the West Sussex town hosts its annual Arundel By Candlelight day – a Dickensian Christmas extravaganza where the streets are awash with frivolity and festive horseplay, as people unite to eat, drink and be merry.

Families can walk safely through the town, taking in the atmosphere: listening to Christmas Carols as the scent of mulled wine and cider, hog roast, turkey rolls and roasted chestnuts fills the air and Christmas gifts are purchased from one of a large selection of shops and market stalls.
The real magic happens as the daylight dwindles, revealing shops, restaurants and houses decorated with trees, lights and candles. Children are invited to make lanterns and then join the Candlelight Parade before visiting Santa and taking a ride on the Carousel.

The roads will be closed to traffic allowing people to mill around the shops and Christmas Market stalls safely, whilst browsing for the perfect gift.
From 1-7pm.
